ClicketyClick's Guide to Ogre

Hello, fellow ID players! It has come to my attention that most of you hate Ogre. That's not because he sucks, it's because YOU suck. Ogre can be an awesome race if you play him right.

As there are no other Ogre guides (face it, radon's is a joke), I will teach you how to play as Ogre!

--ClicketyClick's Guide to Ogre--

I. Starting up
-The game started and you've just randomed Ogre (that's right, no one ever picks Ogre). "Oh shit, I got Ogre!", you think. Well, don't worry. I'll teach you how to be a pro Ogre!


Step 1: Go to the lumber base bottom right of mound. Make a fruit tree blocking one entrance, make a shelter, pump out 5 harvesters, make another tree blocking the other entrance.

Step 2: Kill both trees and make 3 walls blocking the way to your harvesters. This way your lumber base won't probably be discovered and if you det, you will feed very little. Also, you won't need that much lumber.

Step 3: Check if the coast is clear, and make your way to the mound.


II. The Titan's Mound

Step 1: If there are walls, hide in them. Make a shelter, and make sure that you're always either golding or lumbering. If there are no walls, make your own.

Note: I have hit my shelter twice so I can deny it quickly.


Step 2: When the Titan is away, go GOLD GOLD GOLD. Buy a tome for extra HP, and after that, spend all your gold on items.

Step 3: ITEMS! Buy items for other builders to sell! If you base your catapults will get messed up and you will feed, so spend all your shit in items for other people! Pool them like MAD!

III. WTFNO A NOOB DIED
- A noob died? No problem buddy!

Step 1: Make a trap at the mound. Make some trees for extra damage, call your allies, pull the mini (remember, fart can be a great help with its bonus armor) and BAM! Kill it!

Note: The Hunter represents the helpless mini, who is desperately calling for help from the Titan, who hears the Minion's painful roars, and mourns his death with great anguish. And the harvesters are the Ogre's allies.


IIII. Late game
- OK, everyone's fed up with golding. People want to base... and you want to help!

Step 1: So, that nice Murloc wants to base? And he even pinged the spot? Great. Go there, wall it for him, and wait for him to TP.

Step 2: OK, your job is DONE, mate! You have succesfully helped everyone, and you haven't died/fed the Titan like a mad man! Now sit in that base, make sure you're not blocking/making building or blink-proofing impossible, and go have a walk! Grab a drink, go on a date, etc.


Conclusion
- So, now that you've done all you could, relax and stand back proudly, as you are now...

... a pro Ogre!

Run around juking him, waste his time. You should be the reason he's not looking for feed or camping the gold. Have him chase you around for 15-20 mins then just hide in a base and tell him he got owned by an Ogre.

I don't want people dying/feeding just because they suck as Ogre. That's why I wrote this. Why would I tell them to go bash heads on towards the Titan?

This guide is not intended for anyone who can wallwalk with a non orc style builder.

People who can do that have nothing more to learn.

Yes, pool them. You are not wasting gold, because, I will repeat myself, you will use no gold at all. You will try not to be a bitch, help people, don't help the Titan, and stay out of the way.

If you base, you will end up feeding the Titan, using a good base spot and you won't actually help anyone.

Alright, in your humble opinion, what would you rather see (I am using your logic entirely):

A base that fails and feeds 5 levels and a minion or someone that makes you chuckle and feeds a minion?

--Your lumber basing makes no sense. Your walls aren't upgraded and they're too close to your harvesters. The titan can simply nuke the harvesters at that range. Your reaction time isn't as high if the walls are that close to your harvesters and they don't have enough HP for you to get your small amount of harvesters detonated.

The trap is failed hard. There isn't even a real example. The fake one that you gave is bad as well. Even if this isn't a guide to trapping minions, you give a picture and a description.

The middle range of your walls in the base aren't offset right.

Why are you toming, you have armor to make up for a 30 gold tome.

Make your guide at least somewhat decent.

This guide is teaching you the wrong things. If you read it, don't take any of it seriously because you're missing out on the ogre builder.

So, you're basically saying that when you play as Ogre, you should ram towards the Titan, hit him, fart, try to run and fail miserably? You say that a good Ogre player hides behind trees and expects the Titan not to look at the minimap?

This is to stop noobs from ruining the game when they random Ogre, not to teach people how to kill the Titan or make a GG base. Stop whining and go have some sex.

You're speaking of the Ogre Shadowdancer, a completely different race.

Don't compare apples and bloody rag dolls.

I know it's different, but the problem is that you're not clear enough about that in your guide. You know there are certain similarities (such as the models, the lazy editors didn't bother getting different models), so most noobs mistake Ogre for Ogre Shadowdancer and try to do as you show in your guide.
