DotA 1 vs 1 Elimination Tournament - Preliminary Round Active!

The tournament is officially underway and the tournament bracket is set up below.  Please feel free to immediately track down your opponent in the listing and get your matched played.  I am on most evenings, so if you decide you would like me to host your match, send me a message on battle.net anytime I am on.  If possible, any 3rd party host will also work.  If you agree, one of the two of you may even host the game.

ALL GAMES MUST BE PLAYED BEFORE 12 AM CENTRAL TIME ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST.  Any game not played may result in a forfeit.

At the conclusion of the match, both players must report back to me the results of the match up.  I would like the final time of the game, Kill/Death count, and the name of the final winner.  Results will be  posted back here for updating and record keeping.

As a sidenote, at the conclusion of this tournament, I will be hosting a team 2 on 2 tournament so start searching for a partner now.

RULES
1 - All games must be played on UsEast for ease.

2 - All players must be active during the evenings in order to better ensure the games will be available to be played.  Obvious exceptions are our Non-us residents who are on during normal US evening playing time.

3 - The win must be decisive.  No quitting is allowed.  No hacks are allowed.  Anyone who does either will be removed from the tournament, their game considered a loss.  If you feel you were maphacked, save the replay to be viewed by myself and judgement will be made accordingly.  In the case of a disconnect, both players may agree to a rematch.  Failing this, a replay must be submitted and the winner will be deemed the player who had the advantage at the time of the disconnect. 

4 - Make an effort to play your match.  I am not needed for the match to happen, the opponents can meet up on their own time and report back the winner to me for updating purposes.  If you go inactive, or otherwise cannot be found for a match within a reasonable time, you will be removed from the tournament and someone else will either take your spot, or the active player will be awarded a win.

5 - You have 3 days to get your selected match played, from the time the tournament bracket is updated.  Make sure you are following it as there will be no exceptions.  One or both players will be removed from the tournament if the game has not been made.  If you are unable to get in touch with your opponent, report it to me and you may or may not be given a second chance while only your opponent is removed.  This is completely at my discretion.

6 - All games are to be played in current version 6.56.  The game mode will be -Apomnp(All pick, only mid, no powerups).  All non-player positions are to be set to computer to remove mass start gold.  No random.  No em.  If however both players agree to a different mode set up, I will allow it.  I stress for balance reasons, what little we can preserve in a 1 on 1 situation, to only do -Ap.  Many heroes are not geared for 1 on 1 and random can end up getting you stuck with a loss from the start.  If the situation arises where one player does not want a mode other than strickly -Ap, his wishes shall be adhered to.  If his opponent is stalling the match because he wants a different mode, he will be removed from the tournament.

6 - For the purposes of this tournament, ALL heroes and items are available for use.  No complaining, you knew beforehand, plan accordingly.

7 - If neither player can host, or lag is too heavy for one or both players, a new host can be found and will enter spectator mode.  A list of people who are willing to host is as follows:

8 - Keep to the center lane.  The only exception is leaving lane to enter neutral creep spots.  Venturing into the top or bottom lanes for the sake of creep killing is strictly prohibited.

I really think AR is better for some reasons

-the other opponent doesnt pick your hero's weakness.

-you dont pick your most skilled hero, whom you know how to expertly win and play, which might not be all too fair, playing AR will eliminate that factor and make somewhat fairer

Awesome, this is filling up fairly quickly, maybe if we are lucky enough, we can make the 16 player tournament limit.

I'm in. D1RE at east. Ehh... Could we make it so that both players choose a hero beforehand and tells a judge as to prevent counterpicking? If not you'd risk ending up with two players withting for 10 minutes before picking...

I'd also like to spectate some of the games if possible.

I think this would be fair-er if it was -ar or -sd since people like to pick cheap heroes.

This particular tournament is for fun.  However I plan to do another after that will be 2 on 2, all random, shared hero's.  We've just now hit our 8.  I'm going to leave this open 2 more days in the hopes of getting 16 total players.  If I do not, these 8 listed with be put into the brackets.
