Introduction This is my guide to playing satyr; I wrote this because I got bored of writing my other titan guide and wanted a change.
About Satyrs
Description
Difficulty: Very Hard
Description: A fragile stealth artist, this gold hungry builder can loot the titan. Although physically fragile, his high damage combined with his abilities make him perfect for slaying titans. Definitely not for those new to Island Defense.
Uses of Satyr Satyr is a high dps low survivability builder, who specialises in hurting titans and being a gold whore, there are a few main, but defiantly not the only ways to play this glass cannon builder. Those main ways are Mass health tomes and health upgrades: This is the build used by noobs to satyr and people who plan to do a lot of dangerous looting from the titan it is also commonly used when trying to delay the game as much as possible.
Damage Dealing: This is the true glass cannon build, makes huge damage but can hardly take a hit; this build is used by people highly confident with their skills in satyr.
Army: The favourite of many Satyrs mainly those who don’t like to be in direct danger with their builder or like to rape weak minions with their massive juggernaut army of death, they get the gold needed then immediately go build their army in a secluded spot, then get hunting the minions.
Hybrid: A combination of any of these builds, made to suit your play style.
Who should play Satyr Satyr can be played by anyone, but not effectively. With the satyr cap added in the person being Satyr should be someone experienced with it who will save there allies asses and annoy the titan too no end, then still have enough gold to make huge crits against the titan end game. As soon as you make a titan go out of his way and spend unnecessary gold you know you are succeeding.
Pros and Cons Pros: High Chaos damage Permanent Invisibility Can get gold just by hitting Titanous hero’s Can save allies ass with Shadow Dust With gold it can crit, reduces armor and gains evasion
Cons: Extremely low hp Easiest class to think your unkillable with 30g to the titan if you die Can’t base Hard to play if on a team full of noobs or against a good titan

Provides a collection of auras that greatly increase the power of all player units. This tower can also be turned into an item so that it may be moved to a different location. While being held it provides the Satyr with + 250hp and +5 armour.
Satyr’s Skills
Shadow Dust – Unit Targeted – 80 Seconds cooldown Requires: Shadow Dust upgrade (Rogue Den) Turns a unit invisible. If the unit attacks, uses an ability or casts a spell, it will become visible. Notes: saves your allies asses when they get into trouble by turning them invisible, also if your mean you can use it too piss them off as it will stop them attacking.
Combat Mastery – Passive Requires: Assorted Combat Mastery upgrades (Loot Stash) Gives a 8%/16%/32% chance to avoid an attack and a 10% chance to deal 2%/3%/4% normal damage. Notes: These are the abilities that make you the damage dealer you are, you know your cool when you start seeing 2k crits appear above a minion, while the evasion is quite useful remember it does not protect you from nukes.
Rending Blade – Passive Requires: Assorted Rending Blade upgrades (Loot Stash) The Satyrs razor blade deals 25/50/75/100 bonus damage and cuts through the targets armour, reducing it by 3/7/12/16. Lasts 2 seconds Notes: This absolutely rapes at high levels, level four of this will reduce a level 2 minions armour below zero, the bonus damage is nice to have as well. This ability is one of the few reasons you might be aloud to assist a base, because no armour makes titans get raped by bases.
Plunder – Passive Requires: Nothing The satyr is a skilled thief, able to loot titans, giving him 4 gold and 400 lumber every time he lands a hit on a titanic hero. Notes: This ability actually gives you gold quicker than the mine if you can land consecutive hits on a titan, after you have some survivability this will be your main source of gold and lumber.
Fading – Passive Requires: Levels above One: Assorted Advanced Stealth Training upgrades (Loot Stash) The Satyr is well versed in the art of stealth, and his skill allows him to simply fade into the background when not performing actions. 2.5/1.5/1 Fade time.
Shadow Dash – Activated – 14 second cooldown Requires: Basic Combat Mastery (Loot Stash) The Satyr puts on a burst of speed, maximising movespeed for 2 seconds. If the Satyr attacks during this time he will deal an extra 100 damage. Notes: Maximises your movespeed and makes you able to run through other units for 2 seconds, this ability will save you so many times from impossible seeming situations and since it only has a 14 seconds cooldown you can spam it to your hearts content.
Blur (F) – Activated – 18 second cooldown Requires: Champion Combat Mastery (Loot Stash) The Satyr moves so fast as to dodge all attacks made against him. Notes: This ability is used mainly with Shadow Dash so you don’t get hit while you run through a titan, it is also used to drop agro against you when fighting someone who is not paying attention, this ability will give you almost enough time to fade again if your trying to escape someone, also the cooldown makes this ability spammable.
Builds The most commonly seen skill builds for the satyr race, feel free to mix and match and try your own things as satyr is all about finding a way to play him that suits you.
Damage Dealer: The build that specialises in laying down the pain and having near no survivability yourself till later when you get combat mastery.
FAQ
Q – The titan keeps killing me first! A – You have permanent Invisibility, not permanent Invincibility you should learn that
Q – I still can’t seem to land a hit on a titan without dieing A – Getting an ally with a slow always help as does having a hunter tank it while you slowly chip away at its health. Also getting a few tomes wouldn’t hurt if you’re inexperienced at poking.
Q – Omg Riki sucks he’s so F#$%ing weak A – This is Island Defense, not DOTA, we have Satyr in this not Rikimaru, also Satyr is meant to be weak and not be able to take any hits that’s why he has permanent invisibility
