all right, here's what happened. 1) 2.8.5c has been around for months. 2) a guy initially known as wall.up talked to yacapo and yacapo agreed to let him further edit 2.8.5c. (according to wall.up himself) due to the fact that he can't stand to play current 2.8.5c with those bugs around. 3) somehow he turned from wall.up to pandamine, and talk to darox. Initially, darox agreed to work with him, but later found out that he's not the famous anti maphack system designer - pandamine, darox decided to stop working with him. 4) wall.up then later released id - revisited (known as idr) from version a to version e, with great changes but some untolerable bug. 5) idr's production on hold. 2.8.5d is released shortly after that, mainly fix existing 2.8.5c bug, which according to wall.up it's based on the real 2.8.5c. www.island-defense.com is setup shortly after that for feedback on the 2.8.5(x) version. whether it's hacked or not, one thing for sure it's definitely not the official version (yet?). Other famous map like enfo team survival has even more variations. The MT version stood out from the rest and became a good example of its own success. whether to play it or not, it's all up to you. What will be id's outcome? Time will tell. about the three topics i've just moved into here, they will be unlocked and merged after 3 days. New topics on this will be deleted/locked and the author will be sent a notice. Correct me if i'm wrong about my understanding of the progress of id / idr. |

Unless you know why I changed my name to Pandamine please don't attempt to know. I wasn't getting flamed as Wall.up so another wrong guess.
If you don't want to play the map, don't play it, ever. I really don't care if you play .5c forever, you know there are bugs, exploits and terrible imbalances. Just stop being sheep, form your own opinion.
For being out less a week it sure is growing so there must be need in the market. Resistance to change is natural, just remember change doesn't mean bad.
