Draenei Race

Since there's some sort of new suggestion craze going on I suppose I might as well try to join in. This is my new idea (Never posted) since the panda has been taken.(Good Luck Red!)

Draenei Race

First of all the main concept that makes the Draenei unique is that....Well to cut a long story short is that Draenei will be a race that is similar to the shaman in WoW. As in it will have the possibility to take on a similar role to a mag,or a baser. Basically it can do everything but it isn't phenomenal at any. I believe to do this through several gold involved upgrades.

Possible Idea for a skill-Gift of the Naaru (Yes, it's WoW)-Increase attack speed,move speed attack damage,defense,HP regeneration,MP regeneration. By ____ amount.

I can't directly know how hard this race will be but i think it will be in the hard section.

At first the Draenei will be able to build nothing but:

Shelters-5 wood
Fruit Whatevers (Trees,Factories,etc.,etc.)-10 wood
Walls-50 wood
Upgrade Center-5 gold and 500 wood.
Merchant-45 gold _____Wood(<-----Forgot how much)

In the Upgrade Center there will be Upgrades picking the Draenei's path whether you want him to be Support or Baser, these upgrades will lead to more (different) buildings that can be built after researching. You can get only some of the basic and mediocre skills/buildings from both sides and then from there on you have to research on 1 side then you have things unlocked on that side and you'll have to get merchant to get the skills on the other side. i.e. I get all the basic skills/buildings now I can't get anything more without researching Adept Building or Adept Survival which unlocks more stuff. However because I researched one I cannot get the other (i.e. research building you can't get survival) but, what happens then is to get Adept Survival you need a merchant. Basically same concept as Heros in melee match Warcraft, to get the 2nd hero you need tech level 2. 

The main problem I see with this is finding the narrow line of balance so this race doesn't suck ballz or rape too hard.

For the story I think this could work: As the Draenei joined the alliance they sent many of their kin across the land to explore and search for things to aid in the destruction of the remnants of the Burning Legion. A small vessel came across an island beautiful and full of resources, upon harvesting gold they found a looming evil presence come and felt themselves devolve from the magnitude of evil and destruction emanating from the evil being. Seeking to destroy such a despicable evil they Draenei pledged themselves to the destruction of this strange being.

For the support area of the Draenei I think a lil skill book (Like Demo,Faerie,Mag,etc.) would be in place.


NOT A FINISHED SUGGESTION MODS/ADMINS PLEASE LEAVE OPEN SO I GET CRITICIZED  AND THUS "TWEAK" THE IDEAS.

according to wowwiki the draeneis in warcraft 3 are actually the draenei lost ones, who devolved from the broken draenei who came from the exodar draenei

I have no idea what direction the game is going in, but last i checked darox had a dranei planned.  No idea if we will see it though.

Hey! Taurens look like cows but they are awesome! They don't look like goats that much...... But they're octopus beards are awesome.

Also could we focus on something besides the looks?

I'm gonna add more of my ideas and reorganize this around Tuesday this week

I just remember it had floating towers and walls that had mana shield.

As stated darox's race used the idea of weak hp walls but with a powerful mana shield thus making replenish mana as important as repairing said walls.  Also using the obsidian destroyer model i think he had mobile towers.  They could root down on a spot to fire, but be lifted up and moved around(i think they might have been flying) for various reason.  Don't really remember.  I do know that it would be a pain to balance.  Not saying you can't make a race though, you might just want to have a backup theme if darox says he's going with what he's got.

Ok, since there is a lot of dislike on the looks I will transfer this same concept (updated) to another race I was gonna use it to originally. Also the fact Darox beat me to it, he might as well have it. So nice mod people lock this topic, please check out the (different race but same concept) topic soon. I will post it friday. It will be a Machinnoid Race (Bad name sorry) it will involve "SoftWare" and "HardWare" upgrades unless I get a better idea.
