For those of you who have not been following along with Diablo 3 updates, but are still semi-interested in the game, here is some news for you. Blizzard recently sent out 100 000 Diablo 3 beta invites ( source) to North American battle.net accounts. If you opted in for beta and are NA, go check your battle.net! Unfortunately I did not get in, however my friend did and he's willing to share his account with me to let me play

I try logging in and find out my account has been locked due to suspicious activity.
On the flip side, I'm in the Path of Exile beta.

game reminds me of wow in most aspects. For better or worse i can't tell, i was too busy spamming Lmouse. On the upside, there is no longer an overpriced subscription.

Me too However I found the game to be sort of boring, very unfinished, monsters to be repetitive, and some features not included. Hopefully when the game is fully complete those issues will be fixed

Oh wait, blizz releases shitty online games but great single player ones.. which company is it again that patches a patch? I recall something about a backwards dragon...

So much fail that I find it hard to read. 1) I was describing the Path of Exile beta, not Diablo. So it is made my Grinding Gear Games. 2) Blizzard releases both great single player and online games, this shouldn't need explanation. 3) Backwards dragons was a bug from a Skyrim patch, i.e. Bethesda.

And no, online games by blizzard are fucking terrible nowadays, evidenced by battle.net .02 And you've been trolled.

lol.
up until recently, I thought CoD fanboys were a myth. I thought people would be smart enough to realise that there are better games or even just games at all that exist outside of CoD... I was proven wrong by one of my friends who only plays CoD. I tried expressing the amount of happiness I felt when I saw Diablo 3 on my BNET account but my friend however had no idea what in the world diablo even was.

Bnet 0.2 seems to be ruining Diablo 3 too... http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4015163779?page=1 hitting the limit in a record breaking 13 hours. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4015344357?page=1 Here's continued discussion on the subject. And the Blue post makes it even more hilarious. Chat channels are in, and working. They're more like the Diablo II IRC style than the individual chat windows like StarCraft II has.
Having ways for friends and acquaintances to create social groups has been in the long term plans of the new Battle.net for some time. Whether they're called clans or not is a smaller detail. It's just getting the time to work on adding in those types of want-to-have features. Almost assuredly not for the launch of the game, but hopefully at some point in the future It seems there's been some confusion taken from the above statement I made back in September. The chat in Diablo III is exactly as I described, you do all of it in a single window. StarCraft II has a system where each chat is broken out into a separate window, chat program-style, but Diablo III keeps it all in one. The same single window that's used for chat when you eventually jump into a game, too. As far as having open public channels, there's far more negative to them than positive and we maintain a stance that creating an open chat environment without a social structure behind it is an invitation for moderation and support disasters. Most people that want chat channels though are referring to guild channels, or otherwise channels they themselves can operate and choose to invite others to, and we see those as completely valid forms of chat (there's a social structure backing the channel). As I said, back in September, it's unlikely to be anything we attain for ship, but the social group-type chat features are still very much a desire for the future.Seems like I won't be buying another Blizzard game until they get their shit together, though I might pirate it to play through the campaign but that's it.

I feel sad for some of my friends also, Same for the new generation of kids who are never going to experience the level of enjoyment we had with Zelda (OoT was so fucking boss) or mario. Bnet 0.2 seems to be ruining Diablo 3 too... oh god....

Bashiok's (Community Manager for D3) Twitter makes this even more hilarious. Some user "@Bashiok could you elaborate a bit mor on why exactly blizzard thinks that a general open chat channel like inn D2 or SC1 is a bad idea?Bashiok: "@CaptRaven The good is minuscule compared to the bad, and we have to actually support these things..."Some other user "@Bashiok any plans for any guild/clan features?"Bashiok: "@Millerjoeblue We'd love to offer some kind of support for social groups, but it's on a wish list at the moment."And again "@Bashiok I have a question about friends and chat in D3. Is it possible to add someone to a friends list? Also, is there a global chat?"Bashiok: @Varastus21 Yes there's multiple different types of friends lists. Global chat like you want to spam all your friends? no."And again "@Bashiok thats a bummer wanted to ask when the EU beta keys were coming . But a real question, can you play Diablo 3 offline?"Bashiok: @QuriousAlonsus No.And again "@Bashiok thanks for your answer. so chat channels are still part of the game?"Bashiok: "@kultbot They're in there right now. Unless people are expecting general open channels? We've consistently said we won't have those."Hello arrogance and Blizzard out of touch with community. Hell no that I'm buying this game or HotS until you fix your shit.

Im not buying anymore blizzard shit, sc2 has disapointed me, and from the terrible support and understanding of the community they are giving right now, nothing makes me think that any of the recent upcomming games will be any good.
