I really can't imagine it being to hard. Compared to other games that is.

Before we think about making a stand-alone based off of ID we need to come up with an actual idea first. So I'm assuming it's going to be competitive and based off of Star Defenders, what else?

More original ideas come from the original ID. Using start defenders may come up with some copy write problems and unoriginal ideas.
Plus, I prefer the original ID.
