What about a vote mode option for red, and let the most voted mode be passed on? Such as red types -vote and there will be a whole list of available modes that you can press before starting the game, sort of like how Enfos MT does their voting system.

It could be a vote system using text. Since most island defense games are pubs, I do not see why red has command over all the modes, because it does not necessarily mean that he knows what he is doing, because island defense was firstly designed that red was host, which meant he should have control of the whole game.

In that case, shit would be retarded because pubs would always put fr on and never -exp. Wait, if FR still part of the game? That shit needs to get removed. Also, they would vote -ar, 1 or two people would leave because they didn' t want it, then a few more would leave because they didn't get the builder they wanted, and then more would leave because people left. etc etc.
Pubs are retarded. Most games have red as having all the controls for a reason.

Currently red gets control, hcl just makes do the commands instantly or before hand I'm not sure. If your hosting the bot your either gonna take red or hcl, your argument is flawed. |

HCL is specifically for bots, since they use the player handicap to encode a short series of characters which the map can then read. The library in the map then resets the handicap to normal since the custom map isn't expected to use it.
Using the HCL command in the lobby, "!hcl arfe" for example, the map can read this string and activate AR (ar), FROFF (f) and EXP (e).

Btw, for some unknown reason (tested multiple times) Fakeplayer and !hcl causes desyncs or bot disconnection, so I never use them anymore. Have not been tested on BGN bots.
There can be many ways to which you can make a vote system, it can be built in the builder selection, pop up like FoC / Enfos and other tower defensee games, etc. etc.
