To my suprise, ID is not dead yet.
This video probably won't be as massive and lengthy as my other video.  We'll see.

Send me your replays.

1)  It can be old patch or new; doesn't really matter.
2)  It can be any version.
2)  It can be pub or inhouse, I don't care as long as it is remotely interesting.

When you send me your replays, do the following.
1) Attach the replay
2) Give me a short description of what happened(Keep it short as possible, don't want to read an essay).
3) Rename your replay with the time the event happen.  For example:
4) Finally, I will be attaching the name of the person doing the action.  So tell me the name you wish to be referred by, or just say anonymous.

Keep in mind, they do not have to be highly skilled clips.  If it is amusing, interesting, or funny, send away.  I will be including a blooper part/mess around scenes, so even funny deaths are welcomed.
(Copied and pasted)  I'm not sure if I'm going to be doing this section.  If red- is working on this, I want to avoid this section.

When sending, use mediafile, filefront, rapidshare

Guidelines for replays to avoid:
1) No 500000 gold scenes.
2) No retarded basing.
3) Avoid simple things like, I sent an army and I killed 3 minions because he just sat at mound.
4) Simple wall in kills.
5) Simple, Short jump scene.  If you are going to use a jump scene, then it has to be somewhat of a long chase.
6) Funny conversations.
Just think.  As a person that has not seen this clip, would I want to watch this?  If the answer is yes, then that's probably what I'm looking for.

If someone wants to do that det proj I was trying to work with, or anything similar to that, go ahead and do it for me and I will record it.

I will not say when it will be completed.  Again, probably not anytime soon.  But I will get it done eventually...most likely.

i rarely play ID like 1 game by week but it always fill in about 2 mins so dont kid yourself hoping to be the last vet of ID faggot.

Striker, you and I know you haven't joined an id game for forever.  Last game I joined filled within a minute.  My theory is it's the summer effect.  It's not as big as it was a long time ago, but I wouldn't call it dead.

Interesting note: I've had the first 5 message in a row from various areas telling me it's dead.

I think as far as innovative things, there is not much left to explore.  And also, since I moved, my latency hasn't been to friendly on the bots, which may limit what I can do.

ID would be a lot more balanced at higher levels of play if the titan started off with a Minion, however this would completely ruin the pub scene who couldn't handle it. Basically ID is pidgeon-holed into being an imperfect game. The only thing we/I/you can do in it now is get together and play beat up on the pubbies.

Just saying, if ID was perfectly balanced the gameplay would probably incredibly boring.

It's cause games like this, where only one side needs to pay extreme attention and the other side can casually talk shit, just isn't amusing anymore.

The best way to make ID more playable at all levels of skill is to increase the speed of the game, putting more pressure on the builders early on. A faster paced game would have so many advantages, basic builders would be more fun and challenging, titans would become a threat much faster and if the feed reducer was balanced properly a titan could feed effectively and the exp rate turned up, the titan wouldn't be so reliant on weak links while skilled teams would still be able to reduce the gold/exp gain of the titan, but without screwing him completely. But yeah, I don't think there's anyone left with the will, skill and knowledge left to make that happen (no offense neco, you're a great coder, I just don't see you taking ID in a direction that will make it a more viable game for true inhouses).

@Striker:
I agree, there should always be diversity etc. And that prevents perfect balance, but that also doesn't mean the game won't be balanced relatively. A good example is the Street Fighter games, these are no where near perfectly balanced, but there's a way to deal with everything basically. The truly broken things are banned if it's needed.

The problem with ID is that is so inherently flawed, while this wasn't clear for the majority of the games lifespan; it's been clear for awhile now that skill and what builders can do to defeat the Titan has been pushed well beyond what current Titans, even the best can handle consistently. Certainly it's a true test of skill to pit a Titan against high level builders, but that doesn't nessacarily mean it's a good thing. The game would take more skill and be a deeper game if the Titan had equal ability to give the builders the same challenge, and generally adapt better.

I don't claim to know a system to do this, my suggestion was start the Titan with a Minion simply because it gives the Titan more ways to deal with things, pressure the builders more and adds an obvious level of depth to the game. The power in ID is way too one sided as a stands, yes a perfectly balanced game may be uninteresting, but a horribly unbalanced one is equally so.

There is a euro inhouse scene sometimes good sometimes bad. Sucks to play there with american delay tho. Not really enough good people from us/ca to have inhouses of our own.
