So the other day, I was playing as Bubonicus. I got to level ~whatever~ and got my ultimate like normal.

Except, it was pretty much useless.

So I thought, what would be a better ultimate that would suit the theme? Bubonicus has had a free Ankh as his ultimate before, but what else would suit and actually be useful.

The best idea I could come up with is this:


Button Type: Blizzard
Button Path: ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNDeathAndDecay.blp
                            
Ability Name: Meat Shield
Ability Type: Instant (No Target)
Cast Range: N/A
Cast Time: Instant
Cooldown: 240
Required Level(s): 13
Classification: Ultimate
                                          
Description: Bubonicus summons 3 slabs of meat that circle around his body acting as a temporary shield and preventing any attacks from hitting him.
Effect: During the duration of the ability, Bubonicus is invulnerable while his meat slabs, each with 800 health and 20 fortified armor, can take damage. Once all the slabs of meat are killed, or when the effect wears off, Bubonicus returns to his normal vulnerable state.
Costs 400 Mana, Lasts 20 seconds.

So, the purpose of this thread is to either comment on the above suggestion, or to post your own. I'll also chuck up a poll to see what should happen to the Ultimate.

If that would be the case, those meat shields better have high armor, fortified that is. 2400 health is nothing on its own, you are basically using one minion as a shield, and even a regular minion with XX armor and regen gets kills super fast at mega bases. the ultimate he has now is sort of 'meh' but it can be good for chasing people down or preventing that rewall if you can heal yourself and go take another shot at the base before the times up.

Contagion

Prevent target from doing any action other then move and attack like current ult. Last 30 seconds

Every 5 seconds the debuff will spread to every unit in a XXX radius around said unit, the newly applied debuff will have the same duration as the current debuff.

on use 30 s
1st spread 25 s
2nd spread 20 s
3rd spread 15 s
4th spread 10 s
5th spread 5 s

2 minute cool down


Bubonicus' ult is good, just that disabling only one unit isn't enough.

I assume you would have to target the slab of meats, which makes using a minion also to spread the damage a great idea. Seems neat enough.

I wonder if you could fix Bub's current ulti by placing the effect as an aura on a dummy unit, and then have that dummy unit trail bub so when he's punished it doesn't remove it.

What about him absorbing the damage he takes? Not in the way of physically deflecting the damage, but the more damage he takes, the more mana he gets.
In a simulation, lets say he takes X damage. a certain percent of X is added into his mana, but he still takes the full X damage.
And with every kill he makes, even against critters will spawn a skeleton. Includes the nuke itself.

My bad. Never touched Bub outside randoms, and I usually never got that high level with him. Bloodlust still needs to be fixed though(even though I'll miss making him punish it off as mag).

Both suggestions sound pretty interesting, but as a titan, does bubo need to be more survivable or does he need the utility of the disable?

I agree w/ pony here. I really liked bub's ult to begin with but I found myself thinking "damn... this needs to do a little more." Maybe add a little damage, make it a stronger version of his nuke? Ex:

While his ult is single target, it causes damage over time along with the disable. What if builders needed more to survive the little damage it did? Healing/regen towers are already in the game, and most of the time when the titan has his ultimate, builders have towers. Why not force them to spend gold on the healing tower? (Faerie, morph, dran (mana), narture? (spell well?), mak can wall walk it off.)

My point in this being, he's the titan of disease. Make it a powerful DoT like the plague.

This being said I agree w/ ponys idea. I just tweeked his tweek a little Smiley

Or just make it do lots of poison damage, but it cant kill. So like 50 dps, leaving the builder at low health, even more easy to kill with nukes.

If you want the ult to be useful make it last longer, and spread to builders nearby (but in a weaker form). Right now its a mix between another nuke and a disable. The problem is if you can kill them with the ult, you could of just saved it and landed a double nuke instead. The main point of it is to stop builders from being able to build walls, but since its only one target, it is defeated by anyone else in the base.

It wasn't supposed to be a tradeoff it just always worked like that. People used to bitch all the time about how you couldn't punish when you Grant and using avatar

So it has less hp (?) as the magmaide of molt but the armor should make it better?
Actually, the defenders have mega towers when you reach lvl 12-14 and only 800hp is a bit low. but not sure though..
