I have been in many games in which someone would be afk while the host used -ar. I suggest that we instead of forcing a random on everyone, we remove the option of any other builder from the shops.

This will prevent anyone from dieing at the mound at the start of an -ar, instead removing them from the game. It's just a shame that a fun mode could potentially take the fun out of the game.

Easier idea.

When titan comes, and there's still people at middle, make their builders vanish into thin air.. I mean removing the builders from game temporarily.

I don't know, but this is like SD.

SD would work great if implemented properly. It just wasn't worth the effort. This change would work great, too, if implemented properly. Besides, there shouldn't be any more problems with "-sat ffa" removed. (double builder glitch, lols)

3.0.8d doesn't seem to have the -Sat FFA command/problem in this version.

In any case, I would love to see some type of change that makes "-ar" more fun to play. It doesn't need to be exactly what I posted, but I don't want to be afraid to use it because someone might have tabbed out for a moment.

It's a fun mode that adds excitement, and I hate to see it go to waste.

why not just have the game detect if the unit is not doing any actions and make it invulnerable until it does do something?

That could very well work. Only thing is, people might abuse this to harass the titan to some extent.

I guess that really wouldn't cause a balance issue if abused, though. Not a bad idea.

I wonder how it would be abusable to have builders hold position and be invulnerable?
Builders are classified as workers, they do not automatically attack anything that walks their way.

Well you get 4-5 people planning to not press anything just to taunt the titan some. Thinking about it now it really wouldn't effect anything besides annoying the titan.

and how do you expect the game to be able to determine whether a player is actually there or not?
Making an inactive builder at mid invulnerable until he uses an ability or moves is pretty much my best guess.

If you know a better method, i'd love to hear it.

Well, how about you trigger it so that when "-ar" is selected, all builder selections at the shops besides random are put on a one minute cooldown? That way, when someone isn't present at the moment, they will be removed from the game like usual. The same could work with "-br", too.

I'm not very savvy with triggers, but I'm pretty sure this is possible.

There should be an automatic builder-to-observer in the beginning of the case, if the player's AFK within the certain time AFTER AR/SD.

Easier idea.

When titan comes, and there's still people at middle, make their builders vanish into thin air.. I mean removing the builders from game temporarily.

I don't know, but this is like SD.

This is like they have in vampirism, if you have not moved since spawning your builder "Dies" when the vampire "explodes into being from his summoning portal"

If we could have something similar, like instead of the mound being there since start, have it be a ship and after it "docks" the builder gets crushed Cheesy. And after the titan spawns have the mound come back.
