In 3.0.8c, you have the feature to "autopunish". You activate it by right clicking punish (which is now based on slow with no effect) and de-activate using the same way.
While active, any minions you gain from builder kills will automatically be yours to control, meaning the builder that just died never gets control unless you unpunish a minion onto them.
It was a feature discussed a while ago and I just chucked it in there since I was bored.

The bug with punish has nothing to do with the autopunish feature since they do not clash with each other at all.

That's easy-mode tool. Auto-punish is a little lame Tongue Punish skill should be based on titan one =/

It only gives you control of your minions, it's not like it actually casts punish every 5 seconds on them or anything Tongue.
