Due to a surprising amount of interest, I am opening this thread. all of those who wish to join IDG, please post in this thread in this format:

Miscellaneous stuff you must know:

All games will be played on 3.0.6G4, or the current version, using Game, IDG-H0ST or the IDC bot.

Your game must be with myself or nuKKaH and all IDG and other forum members are welcome to come. (And if you are in IDG and wish to help recruit, post here so I know. If I am not in the game, send me the replay(s) and your opinions of the person's attitude and abilities over these forums in a private message)

You may apply as many times as you want, but if you don't show significant improvement between applications, then future requests will be ignored. If you break any rules and continue to after warning, or you are found to be maphacking or anything of the sort, you will be denied future applications and/or you will be banned from the IDG channel and IDG games. You may be asked to play multiple titan or builder games if the game before did not provide enough information about your playing abilities. You will be expected to know how to play several titans and several builders if not all of them. Ultimate decision for if your whether or not you are accepted rests in myself and nuKKaH. Please give us several days (2 or more) notice when applying so we can plan on attending your builder and titan game. You may not be accepted immediately if we are reviewing the replay.

We will not allow you to play worse by claiming lag or anything of the sort unless it is the fault of the host. If you lag that day, then play your best. If you are denied, apply again when your connection is better.

You may be denied to join based on attitude as well.

If we get enough players (8 or more players that are not pubs), we will transfer the game to inhouse rules. For IDG, inhouse rules are:
2 players maximum to a base. If one builder is escaping and teleports to the base, they must leave immediately.

Game ends at 90 minutes and nobody wins.
No teamkilling or attempting to hurt your teammates in any way.
It is highly recommended, although not required that you take control of minions and share control with the dead players. This can allow those players to assist you in the game.
When you die as a minion, you are to assist the titan in any way you can and the titan is allowed to take control of your units and force you to buy them items with gold.

Replays: Here will be past games that will provide a good example of what level of play we expect from you. We do not expect you to be amazing by any means, but you must know how to play well and not expect us to teach you everything.

Additionally, acceptance in to IDG does not guarantee that you can not or will not be removed if
A) no one likes you,
B) you were mistakenly invited,
C) you prove to be a complete dick after being recruited,
D) etc. etc. we reserve the right to kick you for whatever reason.

What version of Island Defense was your first?: Not sure of the exact version, due to unofficial versions floating around. Late 2008.
Do you have inhouse experience? If so, with whom?: No.
Game 1 (Builder) time: Anytime
Game 2 (Titan) time: Well I suck at Titan, but I guess I can go when you guys need a Titan.
Do you mind if we put your replays on this page as an example?: If I ever actually manage a decent replay, sure.

*Note, playing time means when I could be on Bnet. Due to school work, assignments and other shit like eating and other human bodily functions I can't be on for 15 hours straight.

Favorite builder and why: Any golder, basers get boring.
Favorite titan and why: Bub. His nuke does not need to be targeted. Molt also for his large heal.
Usual playing time: 4PM PST - late + when I play at work
What version of Island Defense was your first?   Before mag came out I was playing... I don't know the #. I play for 3 months and then quit every year.
Do you have inhouse experience? If so, with whom? I was in IDG for a month or so right about the time Darox was quitting.
Game 1 (Builder) time: Any time saturday would be good. It will give me time to learn the map changes in G4
Game 2 (Titan) time: Same as builder.

To those of you who posted in this thread for a tryout: Check your messages and send me a message back saying whether or not you can make it, and please pick a good time on the same day, if you can, for your games.

Er, actually, can we do the games on the USWest server? My IP is apparently restricted from East for something. (Stealing the airport's internet has drawbacks) They won't tell me what it was for and all I can find is a list of possible causes.

Can I move your games to 7:00? I want to keep a 2 hour window between games in case we have to do more than one game (very likely since we may not have enough people for an inhouse, and judging skill in a pub is difficult.)



Also: I recommend that you guys play games before your tryout and you join the other tryoutee's games to see what we expect as far as skill.

Favorite builder and why: Probably... Gnoll. Love his walls, wards and towers. Certainly could be the best baser.
Favorite titan and why: Molt or Syph probably. Love molts heal, and ult, and syph nuke is awesome, and ult is great against a lot of basers
Usual playing time Weekdays 4-8, Weekends vary but I'm usually on.
What version of Island Defense was your first? A little bit before the 2. days, finally got taverns lol.. I didn't really become active in it till a couple versions later though.

Favorite Builder
Goblin. I think it's one of the most funny builders from ID. Panic and Trap are very powerful abilities, especially when used at the right moment. Also, a flying Hunter is good in any kind of base. It's a builder which a lot of different gameplay styles.

Favorite Titan
Lucidious. Doesn't require any pearl, giving a 15g plus (Webbed Feet + Ward of Healing usually). Pretty balanced the whole game which good items. Also the bouncing Nuke gives an advantage when breaking a base by brute force is some sort of impossible.

Usual Playing Time
05:00 to 10:00 Battle.Net time. Also available the whole weekend.

What Version Of Island Defense Was Your First?
I do not really remember the number, but I know it was the map with two builders (Murloc and Gnoll) fighting the titan (Lucidious). At that time I remember harvesting gold by hitting and eventually killing the mound unlike these versions.

Do You Have Inhouse Experience? If So, With Whom?
I've played a quite big number of IHs, mostly on Europe, with the few ID clans left: UNI, StiD, CoA (Dead Now). Also played two inhouses on USWest against Clan PAID as Titan.

Testing Games
Well, I'd really apreciate if the games would be during the weekend. During the week I'm pretty busy (school ending soon, preparations for trip and so on). At any hour.
