Not sure if SMF can support this but would it be possible to add some sort of Chatango box to the site? Would probably make organizing games and finding other forum members on Bnet easier.

Setting up an IRC server would be the best imo, preferebly on this server if you can do it so it looks "professional" or something and really is the official ID chat instead of some random channel on some random big network.
