It’s Dai-Rukh, and I’m back with a new suggestion. I have been informed by a reliable source that my Tuskarr Builder was the runner-up in a recent contest. This encourages me to now post this new suggestion.

The Salamander Builder

After the Titans began their eternal war on the new inhabitants of the island, new races slowly began to join the defenders’ cause. One such race was the Salamanders, disturbed from their play in underground lava pools by the temperamentally eruptive nature of Moltenious. A normally torpid and uninspired race, the Salamanders have shown great capability in the defense of the island and are valuable allies to have.

The Slamander is an Easy Baser, and everyone knows how badly we need more of those…

Main Builder:

All stats for the main builder are normal, save the following:
Melee attack range.
Armour: 5 Normal (Exactly like the Ogre)
1 inventory slot
No mana
Human-style building
Harvest lumber at the usual 2/hit rate.

Ability:

Rush

The Salamander uses a portion of the energy stored within its fiery body, putting on a great burst of speed.
The Salamander Builder gains +50% movement speed and Magic Immunity for 8 seconds. 90 second recharge.

Builds:

Shelter

Icon:
Has all of the normal stats for a shelter.

Trains:

Hatchlings
(Heavily tinted red)
Icon:
Have normal stats for harvesters save the following:
Food Cost: 5

Researches Lumber Harvesting upgrades as normal.

Food Source (Fruit Trees)

Clay Wall
(Functions exactly like a normal Clay Wall and can be upgraded to a Stone Wall, also as normal. After the appropriate technology has been researched, Stone walls may be upgraded into Heated Stone Walls.)

Lava Pool(Research Center)
(Looks like the Fountain of Blood or, alternatively, a Fountain of any king HEAVILY tinted red)
Icon:
Has all of the normal stats for a research center. Costs 150 Lumber.

Buys items and sells Turtle Scales as normal.

Researches:

Health Upgrades and Haste Training as normal.

Firepower

The Salamanders are well known for their extensive magma-direction projects. In improving this skill, the defensive capabilities of Salamander fortifications are improved.
This is a five-tier technology, with each tier giving all levels of Salamander tower +5 attack damage.
Gold cost: 0/1/2/3/4
Lumber cost: 500/600/700/800/1000
Time: 45 seconds for all
Requirements: none/none/none/Merchant/Merchant and ARC

Trains:

Titan Hunter

Salamanders, unsurprisingly, have a close kinship with the great Fire Wyrms of the mountains. Often, great dragons will ally themselves with Salamander military forces, pledging their considerable might to the Salamander cause.
Icon:
Other than the following, all stats for this Titan Hunter are normal, though stats are, obviously, subject to change via level-up and Attribute Bonuses.
Movement speed: (Normal for flyers)
Attack speed: (Slightly below average for Titan Hunters)
Health: 800
Armour: 0 (Fortified)
Attack Damage: 120 (Chaos)
Training cost: 1 Gold, 500 Lumber
Revive cost: 500 Lumber

Can learn Attribute Bonus, Siphon Mana, and Avatar.

Dragon Comet

It is said that whenever a dragon dies, a comet crosses the sky, bearing an egg to replace the fallen beast. Once in a while, these comets decide to take revenge…
The Titan Hunter calls down a meteor (looks like an Inferno meteor) which strikes an area, damaging, stunning, and silencing enemies within its area.
Damage: 300/200/100
AoE: 400
Casting Range: 600
Casting Delay: 3 seconds
Stun Time: 2 seconds to all in the area
Silence Time: 10 seconds to all in the area
Mana cost: 500
Cooldown: 240 seconds.

Lava Vent (Tower)
(Model is a doodad called Crater Fiery <Base>)
As has been said, Salamanders construct artificial magma vents deep underneath the ground for all sorts of purposes. Of these purposes, possibly the most common is as use as a defensive structure. When enemies are nearby, other Salamanders deep beneath the surface of the earth activate magma and send it rushing up to the vent, upon which it sprays out at the unfortunate victim.
Icon:
Other than the following, Lava Vents are average towers.
Range: Remains at 700 throughout all upgrades.

Ability:

Deepfire Burn

As can be imagined, lava shot from such vents is extremely hot and extremely painful to be covered with. Particularly nasty burns can leave hurting bruises, sometimes lasting years.
Whenever a Lava Vent attacks an enemy, it’s attack does 5 damage/second for 2 seconds after the original strike. This effect stacks. This ability only applies to Mega-level towers after the technology Deepfire has been researched in the ARC.

Merchant

Elder Wyrm Lair (ARC)
(Looks like a Tidal Guardian heavily tinted red)
As has been mentioned, Salamanders hold close friendships with red dragons. As such, it is not uncommon to see an aged, weary red dragon living out its final days in a Salamander community. In such a position, the dragon provides advice, wisdom, and counseling for its community while, in return, it gets to live out its days in peace and is fed all the time.
The Elder Wyrm Lair has all the normal stats for an ARC. It costs 45 Gold and 1500 Lumber. It does, however, have a powerful ranged attack which it may used to attack Titanous beings or to detonate buildings. The Wyrm Lair cannot attack if it is currently researching something.
Attack damage: 50 (Chaos)
Attack speed: 1 strike/3 seconds
Range: 600

Researches:

Harvester Survival Training and Infantry Survival Training as normal.

Heated Rock

In their constructive exploits, Salamanders often treat suitable stones in lava to purify them. Recently, in light of the war of the Titans, this has been put to more practical use.
All Salamander walls gain 50 mana and a recharge rate of 1mana/second. In addition, they also all gain a 20 damage/second Immolation which must be activated and deactivated as normal. This Immolation costs 2 mana/second. To use this ability, Stone Walls must first be upgraded to Heated Stone Walls for 100 Lumber. Costs 1250 Lumber and takes 45 seconds.

Core Power

In connecting artificial lava vents with a natural power source, instead of an artificial, Salamander contrived one, Salamanders gain a powerful, if unpredictable, weapon.
This is a 3-tier upgrade, with each tier improving all Lava Vents’ attack speed by 5%.
Gold Cost: 1/3/5
Lumber Cost: 1000/1500/2000
Time: 40/50/60

Deepfire

In Salamander mythology, there is a mystical source of all creation called Deepfire. It is the quest of many Salamanders to harness this mighty power and use it to combat the Titans.
All Mega-level Lava Vents gain the Deepfire ability. Costs 10 Gold, 3500 Lumber, and takes 90 seconds.

Furnace Belly

As is well known, Salamanders have a large amount of potential energy stored in their mighty stomachs. This can be released in apparently random bursts of energy, or as a powerful, fiery blast.
The main Builder’s attack range is increased by 400 (obviously, his attack missile changes to a Fireball). In addition, all Hatchlings gain a 5 damage Chaos attack with 400 range as well. Costs 20 Gold and 500 Lumber and takes 45 seconds.

Expert Titan Hunter Training

Some of the dragons who bestow their mighty capabilities upon the Salamanders are, in fact, legendary dragon heroes, capable of mighty deeds. The war against the Titans would greatly benefit from having one such dragon on their side…
Improves the Titan Hunter’s life by 200, his armour by 5, and gives him the Dragon Comet ability. Costs 45 Gold, 2000 Lumber, and takes 60 seconds.

Ultimate Towers:

Sludge Launcher
Tropical Glyph

Inferno Tower

(The red, fiery version)
Has normal Ultimate Tower stats, save the following:
Icon:
Attack damage: 50 (Chaos)
Range: 900
Attack speed: 4 attacks/second
When held as an item, gives +25% attack speed to the holder.

Well, that’s it. It’s good to be back. Please give feedback as normal.

[I wonder where you vanished off too, I wonder~ I missed you :C]

Is his range melee or range?
The amount of lumber required for Fire Power is a large sum of wood, you might want to nerf it a bit.
What is his range? Does he attack slow?
Why should I flyer need to learn blink? That's something silly, too. Also, if it gains 2 [maybe 3] new abilities, you might want to remove 2/3 regular abilities as well~
About Inferno Tower, it works like the Fire Tower from Goblin. Also, +35% attack speed is a bit too much... But it can be fixed~

Thanks for replies, I missed you too, Jux.

Jux.Mage you are totally right, why would a flyer need Blink? I'll remove that.
I thought that it would be assumed that the Main Builder is short range. That is what I intended. He gains range via Furnace Belly. His attack speed is normal.
I can halve the cost of firepower and still feel good about it.
If the Goblin's fire tower works, I'll use it instead of the Inferno. My problem with the Goblin tower is the missile-shooting item: doesn't fit. I can change the attack speed bonus to 25% if need be.

Inferno Tower
90 Gold 2500 Wood
A powerful tower, unique to Salamander itself. It has a powerful chaos flame attack, which would then cause the enemy to take 5HP/s from the intensive heat from the tower. When held as an item, it gives the unit a permanent immolation ability, causing nearby enemies to get 30 damage per second
DMG: 150 Damage / 2 seconds
RANGE: 900

yea the ability for the tower to only increase as for 25% when it's an inferno tower is kind of lame, add an immolation or otherwise fire-themed effect.

4 Damage a second is shit.

For comparison, Radio's aura is 40 damage per second (25 when inside his Go-Kart-Mobile).

Are you talking about Jux's Inferno tower? Because if so I wouldn't mind correcting you, that it does in fact have 150 damage (2 second cool down) on top of that measly 5 dot.

Anyway, I really don't care much about the Ultimate tower: Jux's looks great. I take it that this Inferno tower would look like the Purple Salamander?
Anything else?

About your Lava Vent tower.
Why not make it have a large splash but less accuracy and attack speed? Makes it entirely epic but somehow sadfaced for other titans.
(EX: WC3 Catapult -> Burning oil)

Comet it strong, yeah. I can weaken it if need be, just tell me how.

About the Lava Vent towers: I wanted them to be unlike any other tower (especially Volcanoes) in the fact that they are actually slightly weaken than normal towers unupgraded, but can get upgrades to make them really strong.  thought about AoE or Artillery attacks, but they just didn't seem to work for it. Plus, artillery attacks have attack ground. Imagine a Titan in Windwalk within your walls: you could just pummel him with attack ground until he teleported.
Also, the Vents are fun because, unlike Ogre towers, they CAN survive without upgrades. Their low range, in fact, demands that they be upgraded to be any good: less towers means you have to have better towers.

Pheonix fire instead of immolation?? Cause immolation is already used by taurens ult tower.

Why not a have the ultimate tower's special ability cast an aoe spell that works like Cael's one attack where enemies in an area take xx dps for.... 10-20 seconds? cd would be like 40-60 seconds. and manual cast.

I do like the concept of the builder, though your lore concerning an ability fails sometimes.
Comets deciding to take revenge etc...

Typical ogre builder with panic, human style building.
Makrura Workers.

The Firepower upgrade costs at a total 10 Gold and 3600 Lumber and applies a bonus of +25. Which towers are you using as a base? Murloc and Makrura towers are often seen as standards so should I assume its Makrura because this upgrade is rather powerful.

Intersting Hunter I see. Slow like a goblin hunter but with Fortified armor, increased health, melee attack? and the ability to stun for 2 seconds (damage isnt the focus in stunning attacks).
If this ability is levelable, its stupid. Why would you level it only to have your damage decreased? Pardon if I missed something.

Deepfire Burn: Oooh, stacking dps. Assuming 30 towers hit the titan, this will deal 60 bonus damage over 2 seconds. Rather insignificant if you ask me for towers that only have 700 range. Murloc and Makrura towers were better with this kind of mega upgrade due to their long tower range.

Either way, its a good concept but Lore fails and you might need to strengthen the concept on a few spots.

I don't really care much about the last Ultimate Tower: do whatever you all want with it.

I don't put much into the "lore" as you put it because lore is really unnecessary: it doesn't actually turn up in game. Sure, lore makes the suggestion fun to read, that's why I sometimes make it stupid or funny.
What do you mean by which towers am I using as a base? If that means what's the tower's damage, it would be base Murloc. Sure, this is powerful, but, as you said, the range on these towers is so lousy that they need to be upgraded to reach anywhere near their full potential.
Of course the comet ability is levelable: it's an Expert Hunter Training ability.
Actually, Deepfire Burn does 5 damage/second for 2 seconds, so it would be a total bonus of 300 damage over the next too seconds. Maybe we're talking too strong, now, but, again, the limited number of towers you can have makes this upgrade necessary.

MODIFICATION:
Any other ideas? What's the final word on the Ultimate Tower?
