Draft mode is the usually used mode in ID1 inhouses and some people need drafting lessons/tips.
1. Do not always draft your favorite, or "best" race. In many occurrences there is a player in the player pool that can play that race much better than you, and wishes to do so. Pick outside your comfort zone, to increase variability and innovate a bit. That does not mean to pick a race you do not know how to play. It's important that you know how to play all the races, especially for draft.
4. Pick to make a more balanced team. Many games have less than full house, and players that rush to take the golders and support builders can end up having an uneven lineup with no bases for the support basers to be in. You always want to have more basers than golders, even though it doesn't sound as fun.
5. Don't spam. Spamming only wastes time and elongates the picking process. Talking should be reserved to the one person that is organizing the picking and the person that is making a pick.
8. Many titans have specific playstyles, or play the game a certain way. You can do something about this during picking. For instance, if you know that the person playing titan likes to camp the middle, and you are experienced with magnatuar then it would be a good idea to pick magnataur. On the other hand, if you know that the titan is really bent on seiging and taking down bases over time then it would be wise to invest in a race with a ranged hunter, preferably radio or faerie if you believe you can get enough gold to really make a difference.
9. In some situations you will have a later pick. Keep a running count of all races used and make your best pick based on what is left. Someone should be keeping track of the races used as well. Sometimes you may want to whisper a friend to pick another race so you can get the one they were going to draft. Conversation is important, but don't spam the lobby, keep it to whispers.
10. Try to encourage the host to pick from the bottom up in some games. Many times people get the same early picks and the same races and it's a lot better when people make different picks each time. An alternate method is changing pick order from the person who was titan last game picking first, then the last living builders picking after, and then the person that died first picking last. This is a little mean towards the people that died first, but it encourages people to try harder!
"When one has reached maturity in the art, one will have a formless form. It is like ice dissolving in water. When one has no form, one can be all forms; when one has no style, he can fit in with any style. "

1. I don't agree with this, however I still agree. If someone in the playerpool is better then that race than you, obviously let them pick it. However, if none are, go ahead and pick it.
4. I agree. I've seen too many inhouses with an overdose of support builders, forcing them to hide somewhere else.

8. Agreed. Some titans like to use minions as a sponge to soak up damage, or others (like myself) love to nuke. Learn to adapt.
