Update on ID2. just to show how close it will be to ID here are some images from the map's terrain. Included in the images are also placings of 2x2 supply depos so you can better appreciate both the terrain and the layout of walls, towers etc.

i know some of the placeings look like done by "noobs who wall themselves in the base" but it was done so to 100% replicate the pathing from ID 3.0.6e. You'll still be able to create regular appropriate layout

Looks pretty good  Grin Just a few questions: 1) Will we lumber from trees still? 2) Do the building units (SCV etc.) still slow down (movespeed) when they are about to build a building? Are all of the old builders going to be replicated, or are there going to be new builders such as the Terran builder etc.?

Anyway, I like it. It's a bit bland at the moment, but you did manage to recreate the bases really well. You just need to liven up the surroundings a bit.

yes ofc lumber will be harvested from trees lol. also i have been feeling a bit too that the tileset looks like a "rainy day" i might mess arround with the textures once the terrain is complete or.. perhaps i can open up the tileset's texture sets themselves in photoshop and change their coloring so it looks more "dry sand"-ish? the later method worked really well in war3 fairly easy. alternately mix Bel'Shir with Mar Sara maybe. i noted it in my todo list but one thing at a time Tongue

also sickle thanks for your support i may contact you later down the road when we're gonna be fully dedicated to ability creation.

The gold mound terrain doesn't show what's buildable and what's unbuildable. I know you can change that without changing the texture now, but it'd be nice to know where I can or can't build without having to hover my mouse over it during the game.

for the time beeing till the post beta release the bases will be just as in 3.0.6e for the folowing reasons:
-familiarity with the terrain (you know where what is and if you hate it just leave someone else to get it)
-some of the people that will play it would have not played the war3 version
-makes the global workload flow faster twoard a playable release since all bases will need careful pathing to ensure both optimal building placement and blink-proof layout wich for the time beeing is copied from 3.0.6

after the release when all else is done (balance most importantly since that's a real number cruncher and everything else works as intended) we can focus on more leisure updates like new bases and stuff. heck i haven't gotten into it yet but i sure hope that if i import a modified texture of the game (like sand, dirt, cliff textures etc) the game would load that one instead of the default one. gonna try that but blizz has made some gay moves lately. and top that need to keep the map below 10 megs...

and to answer an earlier post, builders will build the same as they did in ID. regular building, self building buildings (lol) and burrowing building (wall walking) for builders that mirror those that had this feature.

the thing is, the pictures i posted are missing ALOT of environmental detail but the blandness i think comes from the actual greenish texture of the ground. so yay more stuff to fix.

I dont really like that idea tbh. Minnions are meant to be weaker by not so weak that 2 hunters can take it down when its at the goldmine. Its part of the game and would just make titan far weaker. A titan shouldnt deciede not to kill a builder in fear of it being rushed quickly by 2 guys with fail skills who just do A+click on the minnion with hunters.

hunters will probably be weaker against main than they are now and only slightly stronger against minis

of course you can gank minis, but not just attacking randomly. just like now, killing minions is easy with a few hunters if the builders are half decent

L2READ before flamming you troll. He never said how much stronger so what you said is speculation. I think that you shouldnt fix a non-broken system.
