Radioactive Builder GuideBy: RadioactiveFTW

IntroductionRadioactive is a great builder with immense basing potential. Choosing the Radioactive Builder is a great way to move up from the 'easy' builders and work your way into the 'hard' ones. With his radiant personality it's hard to not pick him to lead you to victory.
Pros:Radiation: You will always, non stop, until you die, be doing a passive 75 DPS attack in a 300 unit range. Great for harassing pesky titans who are slowly seiging your base.
Isotopic Shield: Not the best escape ability, but a great ability that will give you time to rebuild those walls, when you are threatened by 9 nuking minions.
Flexible Basing: This builder can flex and bend to make his towers work against the titan, wether its to drain mana, do burst damage or slow him down. And all you need is the gold penalty.
Amazing wood potential: It is so easy to get wood with the radioactive builder, because all you have to do is create builders and let them harvest. Only one shelter is needed to create them. After that you can wait in a corner if you want.
Cheap super tower: 2 of the Radioactive builders super towers only cost 78g, opposed from the regular 90g.
1x1 ranged hunter: Radioactive hunter is great, because he can sit in the walls and fire his green bubbles of death at the titan. Upgraded, he is extremely fun to play with. Reason being, is that he can create 2 images, make the titan ethereal and is hilarious when he has a mutation tower, allowing him to turn the titan into a critter for 3 seconds every minutes.
Your building build themselves:A major ++ for a builder, self building-buildings.
Personal Shaggin' Wagon: Your builder can enter your hunter for additional protection. While allowing the hunter to attack and move freely.
Last Upgrades: The last upgrades in a series is always the the best for radioactive.
Cons:No teleport: Many builder have this skill, the radioactive builder does not. But you can spend 6 seconds at the gold mine to simply buy a staff of teleportation if you so desire.
Towers are slighting more expensive to upgrade: Yes, they are a tad more expensive than Murloc and Gnoll, but you can easily afford it with the extra wood you are making.
One inventory slot: You only have one inventory slot, and some people may have none b.c they always want to keep a staff of teleportation on hand.
Slow Building Walls: The walls build slower than most, but upgrade considerably faster.
The Builder:

Escape Ability: Isotopic Shield; The builder becomes invulnerable for 6 seconds. Cooldown of 120 seconds. Hotkey (D)

FAQ: Does the cannon aura stack with the magnatuar aura? No.Sludge Tower
Does 130-130 damage and has a 900 range, with 20 armor. Has 750 HP.
TIP: The Toxic tower and the Light Energy Tower are "Mechanical". That means they can be built anywhere, as they will "float" above anything below. Make sure to place a building underneath it when facing the titan Voltron, as he can blink in.
In the beginningIn the beginning of the game, you can select the radioactive builder from the left side tavern. As soon as you spawn, this is a common strategy, click your builder, then hit Ctrl + 1. You can now select your builder by hitting "1". I recommend you head over to the nearest base and get your food source to 150/150, by setting up powerplants and a shelter.
REMEMBER: Do not have ANY enterances open when the titan has spawned. Way too often the titan windwalks in and kills someone in the first minute. So set up a factory or two, to block the titan from wind walking in.The alternate beginning strategy, is to rush your workers to trees near the gold mound, and get enough wood to wall/shelter it. This is recommended for frequent Island Defense players, not newbies. This strategy allows you to quickly get 6g, and buy a teleportation staff, allowing you an extra escape route, preventing the titan from cornering you and/or is nuking you to death.
TIP: Another common strategy is to use your shield and then teleport, as a last resort. For both strategies, never forget to create a reactor and upgrade your lumber harvesting. It is a good idea to get your hunter and keep him near you, as his move speed is faster than the builder (If you receive Expert Titan Hunter Training, he will gain an additional 60move speed). Generally with the radioactive builder, people spread their workers across the entire map to prevent the titan from killing them. Alternatively, you can put your worker in a "corner" tree. Shown below, the corner tree cannot be attacked, and provides similar protection to placing workers in hiding spots.
Mid-GameMid game is very basic, all you have to do is collect gold and wood. If you are forced to base (Because you did not base early game

), then feel free to do so. But beware of your wood supply, if it isn't enough, dont bother trying to base.
TIP: Some people get a minion early, it's OK to sit in a shelter spot and just lumber with your builder, he does get the lumber upgrade, so he will be just as effective as a worker. Try to do this only if you have a teleportation staff though.Late-GameNow you have an extra bonus gold and it is time to base. I will show you a picture of an effective base, and then explain from there.

I have build my merchant and got my ARC. I have received all my upgrades from my ARC and gave my hunter summons. You will not have near enough gold left over to create what I did from the gold penalty, but it's a start. I have two frost towers, it's OK to have just one, even at enhanced, but I recommend that it is upgraded. I also have one overload tower, do not get this if you cannot afford it, the frost towers are more important. If you are against a titan who frequently uses mana, simply get Mana burn towers. And lastly, I want to tell you this, rapid radon towers attack twice as fast, so it's almost as if they do double damage. So that means an enhanced rapid radon tower does equal damage as a mega radon tower, except that it can crit, pushing it to be just a tad better.
And please note, you can get more than the regular 30 towers with your amazing lumber capabilites!
StrategyGoldingGolding is a little different from the other builders. But the key to it is, always keep your walls within 6 seconds of running. The reason being is that is how long your shield will last you. Place your walls as close as possible to the water, while still blocking the titan. I recommend you only do one layer of walls, and upgrade them.
Remember! If you are unsure of how far away a wall can be built away, place your blueprint (The transparent/queu of the wall) and go one space down, one space right, one space down and one more space right. It will leave one 1x1 space separating the walls, and the titan takes a 2x2 space. Keep in mind that red building zone does not always mean no walking. (Ex. you can build direct beside the gold mound, but you and the titan can walk there)
Below is a good example of how to wall the bottom left gold mound spot. C = Coral + = One 1v1 space X = Upgraded Wall | = Terrain
|C
|++X+X+X

|+XX+|
I don't recommend you gold when you cannot see the titan, unless he has just recently disappeared from the fog of war. Always watch the gold mound and keep one eye on the brown dot on the mini map. If you are suddenly under attack from a minion or titan, right click your corner and quickly hit "D". With 6 seconds you should safely be able to get to your walls. When you are golding, it's also a good idea to keep your titan hunter inside your walls, in case the titan has you surrounded and you need a speedy get a way car. Chernobyl (your hunter) has a faster move speed than you, and may potentially have extra escape abilities. When in doubt, let him take any nukes the titan might be planning to throw at you by entering the vehicle ASAP.
Reminder! You might want to spend your first 6g on a Staff of teleportation.
What's this upgrade good for and when do I get it...The first upgrades you get, with many builders, is the lumber harvesting upgrade. This affects your workers AND your builder.
TIP: When standing around, create a shelter and harvest! Every 10 hits is 20 wood. After the wood upgrades you can either rush to get your hunter, or the HP upgrades. I prefer to get all the HP upgrades for him first, and then the hunter himself last (I don't use him too often! But it's my bad habit, frequent yourself with the titan hunter and become pro-Chernobyl!)
When you are towering, it is not a good idea to quickly spam yourself to megas because when you build a gold tower, it ALWAY goes back to the enhanced stage, this is a large waste of wood. Upgrade a frost (or two, to enhanced) and a overload tower (You only need one!).
Your ARC has a few upgrades. If you are at the gold penalty, you can probably afford to get all the wood-only upgrades, if you can't, it's easiest to work your way left to right across the upgrades.
Killing minions Killing minions is my favourite part of being the radioactive builder. When you are sitting at the gold mound, you can easily harass the minion with your hunter. If it comes to the point where everyone is charging a strong minion at the gold mound, and you realize they are going to lose against the minion, it is time to send your builder in (Your hunter should already be firing his radioactive slop at the minion). Attack the minion and get nice and cozy with him, learn his favourite colour and what he enjoys to do. You do 75DPS and 125DPH
FAQ: What is DPS and DPH? DPS is damage per second, the total of the amont of damage you do in one second. DPH is the amount of damage you do in one hit. You don't always attack once per second, so DPH is an easier gauge to use.If the minion has less than 750HP and he is just finishing off your hunter, no one else is around to finish him off, it's time to send in your builder. You do 75DPS and 125DPH. Approximately 160DPS. When he starts to attack you, click your shield and the minion should be dead before long (6 seconds of invulnerabilty X 160DPS = 960damage).
Spending You GoldYou want to spend your gold carefully, since there are many options. If you can, I would recommend you get a merchant for a gnoll tracker and the next lumber upgrade. If you cannot afford a merchant, get a frost tower and maybe an overload tower. When deciding what towers you want, look at the titan, does he have a huge mana pool? If he does, it is probably best to mass DPS him to death via rapid radon towers. If not, maybe look at Magic Radon tower!
Reminder: An enchanced rapid radon tower is as good as a mega radon tower, it's even better if you have the critical strike upgrade.FAQ: Why do some people have more than one frost tower? Are they retarded?
A: There is probably more than one minion/titan attacking at a time, if you are quick, you can choose which target for the towers to attack and have both of them slowed. Do not assume frost stacks! It doesn't!If you decide to take the path of mana towers, I would not recommend you mass them, instead upgrade them to mega before you create another, they have sub par damage.
If you choose rapid, then spam them to level 1. Upgrade them if you can afford to.
When the gold penalty comes, you will now for sure have your Merchant and ARC. You may want to consider using any extra gold you have to get the expert hunter training instead of gold towers (Just make sure you have a frost tower). You will have left over gold to spend on towers after these two buildings.
TIP: Quickly get the lumber upgrades after you get a merchant and ARC. More lumber = less workers needed = more towers!TIP: When placing a overload radon tower, place it where you think it will affect the most towers! If you can get more towers, do it, a surplus of towers is OK.Focusing FireThe basic principle of focusing your fire is to aim your towers at the weakest target. When you have a Radioactive base you can quickly get a minion kill by switching targets during a seige. First off, you must hot key all your towers, via CTRL + #. When the titan and his minion are attacking, the towers will probably be attacking the titan and maybe a few on the minion. Press group 1, A (To attack) and then click a minion, proceed to do this with all groups and you may get a minion kill.
The Titan HunterYour titan hunter is a very valuable assets. When you are golding, keep him right beside you. He has less agro--
FAQ: What's agro?
A: Agro: (Aggravate) How much you 'agro' a monster affects who it attacks. Whoever has the most 'agro' will be naturally attacked by WC3s A.I. For Ex. If a titan teleports in, and doesnt select anyone. It will naturally attack the highest agro (Usually a demon scorpion, since it is attacking)--Hence the titan will not attack you if are in the hunter, and there are fellow allies around.
You can quickly enter your hunter and hopefully get away. If you are not in danger, its a good idea to harass the titan, helping other builders escape.
TIP: When you cast shield and enter the hunter, the hunter will not get the shield and the shield will be wasted away unless you exit before the shield is gone.A not so common strategy:
When you are walling, leave a 1x1 gap at the last set of wall for the hunter to weave in between. This works well if you know you are going to be nuked because you can run out with shield on, wall, and run into hunter. The reason why you can't do it without the hunter, is you might not make it back in time, get nuked and die.
Dodging NukesFAQ: ZOGM DODGE NUKE MUST B 4 HAXX?!?
A: No. Dodge nuke is from expert titan hunter training and good timing. The requirement for this, is that you have expert titan hunter training. When you see the titan begin his nuke animation, you can quickly hit the atomic split ability, and the nuke will fail to process. It works this way because the hunter will leave the map to split for a very brief second.
TIP: This also works for melee attacks! If you see the titan attacking him, quickly split and the attack will miss! It might work for other things also!Good luck with playing the radioactive builder.
