The satyr is likely the hardest class in ID. Why? Because his entire purpose is such a difficult task you can?t do much often. However this guide is here to help you figure out what to do and how to do it.

Let?s start with the basics

Pros
-When used properly he/she can be a devastating menace to titan who cannot be stopped.
-Is cool
-Most fun!
-Invisible.

Cons
-No HP beginning
-Almost completely Gold Reliant.(Try playing without using any gold at all and you will see what I mean)
-Basic Titan target (150 hp that?s like a one touch and nuke kill)
-Can do about nothing ?useful? (You?re meant to go titanic hero hunting but since if titan is gone it?s game over and everyone wants to drag the game on humiliating titan)
-Is not Chuck Norris

A couple a basic rules when using satyr are generally
1) Don?t die
2) Make yourself useful ,what?s the point of you being in game if you just gold
3) Be cautious you may deal plenty of damage but your hp should generally be pretty low most of the time
4) Watch out, certain titans such as Moltenious and Voltron are some what Anti-Satyr (I mean a scout and a track)
5) Play like you are visible it lets you live a lot longer
6) Never run around the mound invisible or visible that?s the common reason nooby satyrs die.
7) Be cheap when it comes to gold try to find an alternative solution if possible.

Why does everyone hate satyr?

Because satyr is a class where you rarely contribute anything and untimely and unlucky deaths tend to happen.

Your other upgrades are fairly useful too and if you are lucky to get all endurance upgrades you could save a lot of gold also use it for other things. Also endurance boosts you armor too.

Skills 101

I will go through each skill myself trying to explain it and tell you qualities of it that may help you.

Fading-Basically a permanent Wind Walk except no damage bonus or mana cost. More or less ripped off Rikimaru from DotA.>.<Or was it the other way around?

Plunder-The Satyr is a pickpocket more or less in this skill. He takes resources from the titan somehow by stabbing him. One big reason you poke, be careful when poking.

Shadow Dash-Run much faster for a couple of seconds, attacks do more damage too. (Your attacks) Also titan shouldn?t be able to hit you if you dash and run. Why? All titan?s are melee so if you are too fast for the titan to get close he can?t hit you. Then say ?Too Fast, Too furious?

Blur-Dodge all attacks when used, one of the most useful abilities!


Upgrades

Endurance training-Increases HP and armor more or less a must have for a 150 life builder. I would definitely suggest this. I think it?s better than massing HP tomes because 2 of these equals one HP tome also you get armor and it costs less (gold).

Shadow Dust- Turns target invisible, a must get in my opinion, save a couple of noobs with it, also it costs wood only




 The Blade Upgrades- (Sapphire, Ruby, Assassin)- The main way to get more damage. However I believe your survival is more important that your damage. The main point to poking is to annoy and plunder but one unlucky moment may be the one to kill you and the endurance upgrades may save you and or HP tome(s).

Adv. Stealth Training- A fairly useful ability you don?t have to get it. I think it?s only useful if you get them all because from a 2.75 fade time to 2 seconds is not a big difference but if you get them all it turns into 1 sec. Mainly a poking related ability as titan probably won?t touch you with this and other abilities acting against it.

Rending Blade- Pretty sweet offensive ability. It adds damage and has an Anti-Armor ability. If you?re wondering why you would bother to get this when you got the blade upgrades it?s the anti-armor that makes it special. However the only thing that makes this skill kinda dumb is that satyr does chaos damage. Armor doesn?t affect it. So I think a remake of this ability may be in order. Unless it's for any other units attacking titan (Thieves guild I guess).

Combat Mastery- One of the best abilities in my opinion. Why? You get 2 skills and a high critical (if maxed which is 10% 4x damage) also a decent 32% evade (when maxed) and titan should never touch you with shadow dash and blur available to you. I would get this because it?s good for you in about any situation offensive or defensive.

I think that does it for the abilities.

Onward to units!

Units

I wouldn?t bother with the satyr hire-ables, why? They aren?t really much more than a distraction for the titan and cost gold. Your gold is generally limited and must be spent on the necessities of what you need. You can get them if you ever need to I?ve just never needed to of seen another satyr who did. If you do then go ahead.

If you ever need units I would suggest the ones from a merchant you just need to lumber for a few minutes to get them.(Not spearlocs they costs 45 gold for the love of god!)

The only unit I ever think you might need is the tracker. Why? Because of true sight and he doesn?t disappear like the one in the charm.

You can also get the unit upgrades if you want you can also use the units I?ve never felt a need to since they are fairly weak and gold costing.

Buildings

Rogue Den-An essential building costing a low 150 wood contains essential upgrades and is your lumber drop-off.

Barricades-These are supposed to be the satyr?s walls ROFL. I wouldn?t bother if I were you just use a rogue's den its 500 HP and 10 armor! I will show you how in a picture. A.S.A.P. once I learn how to take screenshots and photo shop em.

Loot Stash-Decent abilities lay here available so I suggest you get it also it allows further upgrades of certain upgrades.

Thieves guild-Units can be hired here they?re not that great so I wouldn?t bother in most cases they cost gold too you should generally get it for the sake of further upgrades and Crown of thieves.

Crown of thieves- Good item gives a damage boost regeneration boost and speed boost. Rather expensive try and get it if you can. If you are lucky you can get it with gold penalty money if you can get it with regular golding money, even better!


Random Help

Poking means when you hit the titan or minis. Generally hit once and blur immediately if possible and dash then run away to a safe nearby spot. Feel free to repeat soon.

Mini-killing
Killing a mini is a hard job let alone more than one! I suggest you get all items from the merchant (except spearlocs, damn 45 gold)
Then use them as a distraction so mini should not touch you for a few seconds and hit mini repeatedly till he dies. In order to do this you?ll probably need all damage upgrades (blades, rending would help) at least like over 300 HP (more the better) combat studies would help you a lot for escaping if it didn?t go well or doing one heck of a critical or evade.

Be cautious and careful I?ve seen a pro satyr die unlucky (after killing 3 minis XD) Also a chicken by gold mound set up a builder's untimely demise! (Chicken wind wanded the builder and titan came XD)

HP tomes, avoid massing them, there are substitutes to gaining health and better things possibly to spend with your gold.

End Game-If you are lucky you should have a crown of thieves use it as an item,if you don't have one get one! Farm for all researchables  hide for a while perhaps in a ally?s base when titan is weak or about to be finished help them(your team) do it.

This strategy is unlikely to work out all the time. It?s for the ideal scenario where titan has no mini and is minimally fed. If there is a single mini if you built up right you should be able to poke it same follows for multiple simply poke one. If there is only one mini you might be able to kill it End game or earlier make sure you get the kill.

Feel free to ask questions I will answer them to the best of my ability.

Some things that comes to mind are:

-The version this guide applies to.
-How much resources you get from plunder.
-Shelters are very helpful in blocking the titan when he is sieging.
-He has orc style building (good for escaping if you're dash/blur are on cd)

I thought i fixed that....that was meant to be rogue's den which is 150 wood only. Also you get 4 gold and 400 wood for plunder,also what do you mean by shelters?Sat has no shelters. Also there are many versions of ID I myself have about I dunno like 12 of each. About the versions I think this one is good for 2.8.5b and c.

It's called Pearl of Vision. It reveals everything in a 3000 radius of the targeted point. (The best thing 16 gold can buy)

This strategy is unlikely to work out all the time. It?s for the ideal scenario where titan has no mini and is minimally fed.

0 Minis and Minimally fed is very rare. maybe 10%- in most games. Even pubs sometimes have no minis and an underfed titan. But it is a very uncommon thing.

A common misconception. Even if they mh'd, they would need to pearl you or use a scout, reveal, whatever. You cannot attack something that is invisible if you are maphacking.

And by adapting I think I worded that badly I think what I should have said is that there is no universal strategy to satyr. Example of this is goblin everything you do is generic you gold the entire time and then base with it, if there is a mini you factory base and then wait for mini to die somehow then gold and base ect ect.

But often with Satyr it's different every time.

Thank you for telling me I have been asking in random places! I'll add them as soon as I can. I probably won't be able to soon cause school starts soon. But I will do my best to get them where is the print screen in the menu? Also what do I do after that? I'm relatively clueless when it comes to technology.

Chaos is 100% to all armor types. It has no strengths or weakness, unlike the rest of the attack types.
Imagine this. 400 chaos damage is dealt to a titan with 50% armor reduction. 200 damage is done.

I guess I'll just re-do everything thank you all for the constructive criticism. However my brother has gone crazy with the computer and I shouldn't be able to do about anything.... I'm typing this early in the morning...

What about join a game with a friend, get 90 gold, have him share control of unit. Build a super tower, transmute it, and put in on Sat.

I know you could just build the Crown of Thieves, and get the 250 hp and other thing it gives.... but there are many towers in game that can do things.

I tried getting the tower that shoots hammers from carrier to enemy. Thought I could get gold while standing in base. But I was unable to get the tower. person would not share units...

If someone knows if this is true though, I would like to know.   I also kind of figure that it would break invisibility, but I do not know yet.
